Although we are a completely independent practice and are able to refer you to the best doctors regardless of where they practice, we are linked to the Partners Health Care Network. Partners is the largest health care network in Massachusetts and is anchored by Mass General Hospital.

INSURANCE
We accept the majority of insurance plans.

CONVENIENCE
We have two offices, one located in WESTFORD, MA, the other in Groton , MA.
Both offices have X-Ray facilities located in the same building. The Westford office
has LABORATORY, PHYSICAL THERAPY, ULTRASOUND, MRI, and CAT Scan
(coming in 2003). The Westford office also has multiple specialists.

SPECIALTY CARE
Pediatrics West has several specialty clinics run by our own practitioners.

I. The ASTHMA CLINIC is run by Nicole Duane. This clinic performs diagnostic work-ups on children with chronic or recurrent pulmonary problems. Sophisticated pulmonary function testing is available as part of the evaluation. Thorough parent and patient teaching is provided. Medications are managed to minimize the impact of this disease on the childs lifestyle.

II. The ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER clinic is run by Patricia Jackson. She does evaluations of children with suspected ADD and provides long-term management of medications. She also screens these patients for any associated psychiatric disorders. She maintains close communications with parents and teachers to provided optimum management.

III. The WART CLINIC is run by Patricia Jackson. Several different modes of treatment are used, including Canthacur and liquid nitrogen. Topical anesthetics are often used for younger children.

IV. The ALLERGY CLINIC is run by Dr. Russell Coleman. Allergy evaluation plays an important role in the care of children with asthma as well as those with the more typical nasal symptoms. Testing is done for common inhalant allergies such as dust, pets, mold and outdoor pollens. Testing can be done by blood testing or skin prick.

V. SPORTS MEDICINE AND CARDIOLOGY. Dr. David Watson,
A member of the American College of Sports Medicine sees pediatric sports medicine cases. He has the capability of fiberglass splinting for many injuries. Dr. Watson is the school physician/team doctor for Westford schools, Nashoba Tech., North Middlesex Regional High School and Lighthouse School in Chelmsford.

VI. ACNE CLINIC patients are seen by Susan Kelleher. Adolescents with acne are managed with teaching and a variety of effective medications.

COVERAGE
Nurses are readily available in Westford and Groton during the daytime to assist with routine issues, or to help you decide if your child needs to be seen that day. We provide after-hour (nights, weekends, and holidays) phone access through the Westford number to assist with more urgent issues.

Patients sent to the Emergency Department or Inpatient Ward at Emerson Hospital are often managed with the help of the EMERSON HOSPITAL HOSPITALIST group (EPG). This is a group of highly trained pediatricians who specialize in newborn and inpatient pediatric medicine. These pediatricians are available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
