Pediatrics West, P.C. sees sick children by appointment only. We are not an urgent care facility or a walk-in clinic. If your child needs to be seen for a sick visit, please call to schedule an appointment. For sick care on weekends, please call WESTFORD first thing in the morning to ensure that your child will be seen.
Routine Calls (Day Only)
Please call the office where your child is usually
seen for routine issues. Clerical issues will be handled while you wait. Questions
for a medical staff member will be prioritized and either taken care of immediately
or by a return phone call from the nurse or physician. Examples of this would
include medication refills, appointments, checking lab results, etc.
Emergency Calls (Day or Night)
To obtain emergency medical care, dial 911. For urgent questions during office hours, please call the office where your child is usually seen. For urgent questions after regular hours and on weekends, please call the WESTFORD office (978-577-0437). Listen carefully to the voice-mail message. You will be provided with a pager number through which you will be provided with a pager number for the nurse or physician on call. If you do not hear back within 15 minutes, please page again.
Urgent questions are those for which obtaining an answer within the next hour are important to your childs well-being. examples of this would be high fevers, breathing problems, severe vomitting, etc. Please also call if you are uncertain if your child should go to the emergency room. The after-hours person is not able to schedule appointments for the next day.
