Expectant Parents - Tiny Fingers, Tiny Toes:
All About Your Newborn and Everything You Should Know
Pediatrics West would like to introduce a new program, Tiny Fingers, Tiny Toes, All About Your Newborn and Everything You Should Know. This is an informative medically based program designed by the physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses of Pediatrics West to educate expecting parents, as well as parents of newborns. As a large pediatric facility with 14 providers and offices located in Groton and Westford, Pediatrics West wanted to offer another new innovative program to meet the needs and requests of the families in our practice and in our communities.
The main concept if this program is to educate and to alleviate some of the stresses of becoming a parent of a newborn. Tiny Fingers, Tiny Toes, All About Your Newborn and Everything You Should Know offers a comfortable and informal learning atmosphere designed to fit the parents comfort level. We are offering group sessions for both expectant parents, with verbal, written and “hands on” methods of teaching. The group of expectant parents will also be able to speak and ask questions to a board certified pediatrician on at least one occasion during the program.
Tiny Fingers, Tiny Toes, All About Your Newborn and Everything You Should Know will encompass basic newborn educational material and re-enforce the information provided to the parents by their infant’s provider. The material covered will be a wide range from normal newborn appearance and symptoms that may warrant a physicians visit to breastfeeding vs. formula feeding. We cover recommended safety equipment, vaccines, herbal supplements and medications, and recommendations on finding a pediatrician. Our “hands on” approach allows expectant parents to observe and practice diapering, bathing, swaddling, feeding and burping.
The program is offered at two locations. Classes are offered at different times as well as in 2 and 4 class sessions to try to meet the need of all expectant parents.
Our new innovative program Tiny fingers, Tiny Toes, All About Your Newborn and Everything You Should Know is an opportunity for an informative and educational visit with our staff in a comfortable setting for new parents or parents to be. We feel this is a necessary and invaluable program to all new expecting parents and their families in all communities. We hope this program will become “just another set of classes” that all expectant parents normally attend as part of preparing for the arrival of their newborn.

Parents - "Let's Talk" Parent Workshop:
How to talk with teens about
Facts, Feelings and your Values
around their sexual health.
"Let's Talk" is a class for parents on how to start the conversation with teens about growth and development, and sexual matters. This class will help parents develop the tools to improve communication with their teens.
Studies show that teens get information about sex from friends, TV and movies.
Unfortunately, much of what they learn is wrong!
Two-thirds of teens who have had sexual intercourse wish they had waited.
The great news is:
Nearly 9 out of 10 teens say it would be easier to avoid sexual activity and teen pregnancy if they were able to have honest conversations with their parents.
Please join us for this great parent workshop
