Flu Information

Pediatrics West is recommending flu shots for all children.

If we do not have your e-mail address, please call us with it so that we can keep you up to date on all that is happening at Pediatrics West.

* H1N1 mist is a live nasal spray that is ONLY FOR PATIENTS OF PEDIATRICS WEST who are Healthy individuals ages 2 and up WITHOUT any chronic conditions   If you have recently received an MMR, Varicella (Chicken Pox) or Seasonal Flu Mist- be aware: you MUST wait at least 4 weeks before getting the H1N1 live nasal spray.

Live nasal vaccines are not approved for patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, blood disorders, complex cardiovascular problems, or asthmatics; or for anyone with one or more episodes of wheezing in the past year.   Live nasal Flu are not OK for close contacts of severely immuno-compromised individuals.  

Flu vaccines are not OK for children with egg allergies.
